Perfect autumn day in London (Big Ben, Covent Garden, Harrods…)
Maybe you saw that on my Instagram account : My birthday was at the end of October, and it was the perfect opportunity to discover London, especially with the wonderful Indian Summer we had.
I wanted to be amazed by autumn colors and mood, I it was exactly how I hoped ! I thought you may like a post with a few photos and the places I liked ! I had only one day for this first meeting with London, that is why I decided to chose a walking itinerary.
To be able to choose my route, I read a lot of blogs to know the best places to visit, and I also asked my colleagues what were their favourite.
To get off to a good start, I arrived at Victoria Station and went to the first Starbucks I found to order a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Then I was really ready for a touristic autumn visit of London Then I used my tourist paper guide and my map (It was hard, without Google Maps, I was completely lost!)
I started tour with Buckingham Palace ! Even if it was quite early, there was still a lot of tourists already !
Saint James’s park
Between Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, I crossed a first park, and I was speechless to discover this green foliage in the middle of the city ! There was also so much squirrels, it was really a very nice moment. In this season, colors of the trees were pretty amazing, it was amazing.
Between Big Ben and Westminster Bridge, I follow the other tourists, but I am amazed by the view.
After a walk between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, I reach the Covent Garden district.
Balthazar : French breakfast in London
I followed the advices from a French blogger, Margot from You Make Fashion, to choose this restaurant to have a breakfast near Covent Garden. Nice and quick service, very pleasant place, I left with a lot of energy to get going on the afternoon.
From the wonderful Covent Garden to vers Picadilly Circus.
On my way to the next step (a museum), I pass through Green Park, a place where I wanted to jump in the leaves, and breathe deeply. Again, I have been bewitched by this big green space in the center of the city.
London is full of wonderful museums, this one had been my choice for this first time in the city. There is a lot of free museums in London, it is even difficult to chose, but because they are all pretty different, everyone can find an exhibition to his liking.
The end of the day was coming, so I just went to the « Food » Store of Harrods before leaving
I am so happy to have had the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful day, we even saw some beautiful Halloween pumpkins et several people in costume in the evening (It was the 31th of October)
I can’t wait to go back to London to discover another area of the city. Do you have any good address to suggest ?
