I have spent all my childhood in Pau, in the South-West of France, and I regularly go back to this city to see my family and enjoy for a few days the amazing view on the Pyrénées on « Le boulevard des Pyrénées ».

If you happen to go in this city, you can find in this post 5 places to eat you can’t miss !

5 places to eat in Pau (64, Pyrénées-Atlantiques), France

These are my favorite, where I like the atmosphere, the food and the people : a nice lunch, a cute libanese place, a good vietnamese to take away, a classic English pub and a typical French brasserie. Bon appétit !

#1 La Fabrique (especially for lunch)

This place is always nice, but especially at lunch. Here you can eat a different menu every day, as they go to the marketplace every day and pick the nicest foodstuff to cook them for you !

The prices may seem a little bit more expensive than elsewhere, but the quality and creativity are the reasons, and it is worth it.

#2 La fiancée du désert : amazing food in this cheap libanese restaurant

In a few words, I like this libanese restaurant as I like the decoration and the food is cheap but reeeeaaaaaaally good !

If you are a little group, ask to have the table in the « patio », as it is really colorfull and nice :)

#4 English pub to have a fresh beer and a good burger with fries : le Garage

Le Garage is a typical English pub where you can have a beer with a good burger/fries. Waiters are often English and the atmosphere is really nice.

I was not expected this but their desserts are homemade and all the one I have tested were really good !

#5 Le Berry : THE typical french brasserie of Pau

This is an « old » French Brasserie, but they have moved recently in a whole new place. As you can’t book in this restaurant, make sure to arrive early, or just have a glass of wine while waiting for a table. On the menu, you will find some famous typical French meals. You should also take a dessert ! My favorites : Lemon Meringue Pie and Paris Brest !
